I have a Blued S&W Model 29-2 with a 8 3/8" barrel the serial number S2497XX then what appears to be O1.25-2 right below the serial number on the inside of the crane. I purchased this used black in the late 1990's Originally when I purchased it it had a large old style Red Dot scope. The number on the butt is K65038; and the number located on the bottom of the barrel where the extractor arm is, is K65038 also. Thanks in advance. It is better to take the serial from the bottom of the butt frame since that is the official serial. However, some S&W revolvers have the serial in the yoke cut, like yours.
